Restoration work - 13th July 2005
The restoration work at St. George's Church, Bloomsbury, London comprises full stone repair and light cleaning to the external envelope, the reinstatement of stone steps to the south tower, a new platform, a lift for disabled access from ground to church level, works to the portico, lightning protection and preparatory works to the undercroft.
Once completed, the undercroft will provide community, exhibition and letting space for charitable organisations.
The church is over 270 years old and investigations into listed building fabrics have been carefully researched in order to successfully carry out the conservation work to the building’s historic fabric and finishes.
